Your LibreChat. Always with you.

Libretto brings your own LibreChat servers to your iPhone and iPad: quick to reach, safely kept apart and with voice. Also in the car, through Siri and from the Lock Screen.

Get it on the App Store How it works

Free for private use · iOS 17 or later · unofficial app, not affiliated with the LibreChat project

Ready in three steps

Add your server

Enter the address of your LibreChat server and tap “Test connection”. Libretto recognises LibreChat automatically.

As usual, also with single sign-on. Optionally Libretto signs you in again by itself when needed, protected by Face ID.

Get going

Type or simply speak. Without a server of your own you can try everything with the demo profile.

Why Libretto?

Multiple servers, kept apart

Private, work, test: any number of profiles, each with its own isolated storage. Switch with one tap, every profile has a colour and symbol.

Talk instead of typing

You speak, Libretto sends your question and reads the answer aloud sentence by sentence while it is still being written. Then it listens for your next question, no tapping needed.

In the car too

With CarPlay you start a conversation hands-free. It keeps running when the screen is locked.

Always one touch away

Widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen, controls (iOS 18) and Siri: “Start Libretto”.

Signed in, company-ready

Single sign-on, for example with Microsoft, and MCP authorizations work. Credentials stay in your iPhone’s keychain.

Your data stays with you

No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Libretto only talks to the server you enter yourself. There is no account with us.

Voice that keeps up

  • Voice mode with the microphone button: tap, speak, pause, done. You place the button anywhere on the screen.
  • Conversation mode: after the answer, Libretto briefly waits for your follow-up question.
  • Local speech output: by default the iOS system voice reads aloud on the device, no cloud.
  • Optional OpenRouter: if you want a different voice, use OpenRouter with your own key. It is off until you deliberately enable it.

Libretto Work for companies

Libretto is also made for use in companies: one license for all employees, central policies for speech output through your device management or a file on your server, rollout through Apple Business Manager. Your IT decides what is allowed, and employees cannot loosen a policy.

What does Libretto cost?

  • Private: free. All features, no restrictions.
  • Commercial: confirm commercial use with a one-time purchase in the app (it unlocks nothing, it only shows a badge), or a company license for all employees by invoice.
  • Voluntary: if you like Libretto, I would be happy about a coffee. It comes with nothing in return.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a LibreChat server?

Yes. Libretto is a client for your own LibreChat servers or servers you have access to. To try it there is a demo profile that needs no server of your own.

Is Libretto the official LibreChat app?

No. Libretto is an unofficial app and not affiliated with the LibreChat project.

Where does my data go?

Only to the server you enter. There is no account with us and no detour through our servers. For the license check Libretto asks, for public servers, whether their domain is licensed (only the hostname, nothing stored). Details in the privacy policy.

Why does Libretto only show LibreChat servers?

Libretto is a client for LibreChat and not a general browser. Before loading, the app checks whether a LibreChat server responds at the address. Other websites are refused.

Who is responsible for the content?

The operator of the respective server, including the AI services used there.

Does Libretto run on the iPad?

Yes, on iPhone and iPad from iOS 17. CarPlay naturally only works with the iPhone.
